Handcrafted
by Laurel
Laurel
grew up taking every art class she could. In addition to exposure
to painting and drawing, her Apple Valley (MN) High School art department
opportunities included pottery, weaving, metal casting, copper enameling
and more.
Laurel went on to earn her art degree at St.Cloud State University. She worked for a number of years in advertising and graphic design related fields, including several years in the Creatives department of the West Central Tribune newspaper in Willmar. Laurel enjoys working with a variety of mediums but started to focus on beading and wire working within the last decade.
She is currently the owner of Bead Jam bead shop in New London which offers beading supply and classes. At
Bead Jam, Laurel enjoys having a venue to sell her crafted jewelry. The
pieces here are a sampling of her work. Most of those shown are
already in private collections and not available. Of course, for
the best selection of Handcrafted by Laurel jewelry,
stop in at Bead Jam at 13 Main St. N. in New London, MN.
Laurel's
work is also available for purchase at the Prairie
Renaissance Cultural Center in Morris, MN. Laurel is looking for more outlets for her work, so for information
about wholesale purchasing or selling her jewelry on consignment, please contact
Laurel. |

Commission a Wire-Wrapped Pendant Necklace
A customer brought in this coin shaped item to commission Laurel to wire-wrap the coin into a pendant and then bead the rest of the necklace. If you have a special stone, token, coin or other round/oval object, bring it in to ask Laurel about making it into a wire-wrapped pendant necklace. Two smaller matching pieces can be made into earrings.

Laurel makes a wide variety of beaded objects, many of them themed for special interests such as the keychains and bookmarks.

Wire rings are popular, especially with the mood beads. The more elaborate rings are generally special order or can be created in Laurel's wire ring class, when offered. |
