Tools: Bead Stopper 03-51-RT4406 (or tape), flat nosepliers, wire cutters, optional crimping pliers, optional G-S Hypo Cement or super glue
To begin use your wire cutters to cut an approximate 18" strand of Beading wire. Add a Bead Stopper or other clip to the end of your wire (or secure with a piece of tape), leaving about 2" of wire in reserve.
Start by stringing a 3mm round silver plate bead, a 6mm silver plate bead, another 3mm, then a 10mm shell coin bead. Repeat step, then end with another grouping of three silver plate beads (see photo). Now run beading wire through first hole of a mother of pearl ring bead. Add a 3mm silver plate bead, an Oval shell bead, and a second 3mm bead*, then run beading wire through second hole of the ring bead. Add the next silver plate bead grouping (3mm, 6mm, 3mm) and repeat with ring bead steps (ring, 3mm, freeform, 3mm, 2nd ring hole) until all five ring groups are strung. End stringing portion as at beginning, alternating the 10mm coins with silver plate groupings.
Once
all the beads are in place, put a crimp bead on the wire end, then run wire
through an end link of your chain, then back through the crimp bead. Use a flat
nose or crimping plier to flatten the crimp bead. Remove Bead Stopper (or
tape), and add a crimp bead to that end, repeating above steps to have both
ends of the necklace secure. If desired, add a dot of G-S Adhesive or other
jeweler's glue to the crimped beads. Trim extra beading wire as needed. To attach
clasp, gently twist open the 5.5mm jump ring and attach to an end link of chain,
then twist close. To finish the opposite end, twist open the larger fancy jumpring
and attach to rollo chain.
* Optional: you may want to use larger or smaller (4mm or 2.5mm) plated round beads in the open section of the ring bead, depending on what size/shape shell bead used and the available space. Another alternative is instead of using the small beads within the open ring, flatten a crimp bead on both sides of your oval to create a slight illusion necklace look.
