To begin, cut 20-24" of waxed cotton cord. Next, visually divide the cord into thirds. Tie a single knot at the one-third point. Starting on the longer end of your cord, add a Nickel Metal Bead, sliding it up to the knot in your cord. Now add one of your Pony Beads, then another Nickel Metal Bead, to create a grouping of three beads (see photo). Next to this bead grouping, tie another knot in the cord so the two knots are holding the beads in place.

Again starting on the longer end of your cord, add your cord hugger, then create the next bead grouping by tying a single knot about 3" from the previous knot. (The cord hugger should be hanging in between.) Add the same group of beads: Nickel Metal, Pony Bead, Nickel Metal, then create an additional single knot to hold this second grouping in place. To adjust any of the beads, you may be able to loosen the knots with your pliers. Shift them into the desired place, then tighten the knots again. Once all the beads are in place, trim any frayed cord or uneven ends.

To attach the Cord Tips, start by adding an optional dab of glue to the middle of a cord tip, inserting the cord into the open area. Then use your pliers to fold the edges down, kind of like overlapping shutters. I usually hold the looped end with my left hand, using my thumbnail to hold the cord in place while I fold the edges with my pliers. If necessary, give the glue a few minutes to dry. To finish, gently twist open an oval jump ring, using the ring to link the Lobster Claw clasp to the loop of the Cord Tip , then twist the jump ring closed. For the opposite end, link the remaining two oval jump rings with the Fancy jumpring, creating a chain of three (oval, oval, fancy), then attach the end oval jumpring to last Cord Tip loop.
